Default Problem...

Well my wife woke me up this morning after she took our son to daycare and said that when she was driving the whole car started shaking, she came to a stop and it quit shaking and didn't happen again. Anyone have any idea what the problem is or experienced this yourselves??? I think I am going to drive her car to work tonight to try and duplicate the problem. Oh and BTW iti s an 06 with a little over 10k miles on the clock and I tried the search feature but couldn't find anything so sorry if this is a common issue that has just started popping up.

TIA, Mike

Definitly not a common problem. Time to use ur warranty.

What kind of shaking is it? A little vibration, a bucking, can u feel it though the steering wheel? Just trying to get an idea of what's up. I assume its an automatic. Ask her this

How fast was she driving and did she allow the car to warm up abit before she took off?

With the auto it doesn't like going into 3rd 4th n lockup untill the blue light is at least out. U can drive with the blue light still on but don't drive to fast for alil bit untill the car finally warms up. From what u discribed I think this could be it since this is the first time in 10k miles this has happened and it stopped after she came to a stop. Let us know after u drive it n what she said so we can get a better idea.

Well I was figuring on using the warranty for sure and I know about the car not shifting out of 2nd if you drive immediately after start up and not going into 4th until the car is at operating temp.
According to her it was the whole car shaking but I guess since she doesn't know squat about cars (or how to describe a problem accurately) I will just have to get in and hopefully I can get it to happen again. Apparently it started losing power when it started shaking as well. I just don't want to show up to the dealer without a good idea of what it is because they will most likely return with "We can't seem to find the issue".
