Question Scion XA Chip???

I was doing research on this and was thinking about it.

For $250 is this programmer worth it for the XA?

Has anyone used it and seen nice results from it?

The link doesn't work, but assuming it is what I think it is, not worth it... not even a little bit.

i'm not talking for compact cars. let me introduce you to a world outside of tiny cars and under 2L engines. a lot of trucks use handheld tuners for towing, mileage, and tire size changes. hypertech diablosport and bullydog all come to mind, and they essentially load revamped stock maps for optimization.

It's JETCHIP if you read the fine print it says it optimizes HP. No real dyno proven HP gain.
I had a dodge dakota r/t and was on a message board for that car, a member did a dyno test before and after and got NO hp gain.

Looks like it monitors stuff like the scanguageII.

Save your money for something else.

well then let me rephrase that, all chips for anything under a 6cyl seem like crap. i know the benefits for somethin like a truck, me n my dad did some haulin last summer and we used one on his f-150, they are great, but if you read the title of the forum its bout xA chips, not chips in general, i was just wondering if anyone has seen any real numbers from these lil pieces of shlitz on somethin a lil smaller.

The only way I could see this thing would work is if the toyota ECU is flashable and the programmer had different programs in it to change the timing and air fuel ratio maps.

Definately NOT worth it. For that price, you could almost pick up a piggyback ECU with much greater tuning capability. However, with such a small displacement and without aftermarket head work, you wouldn't see many gains. If you had an intake, header, and header back exhaust it might be somewhat benificial to the tune of 10-15 HP, but on the 1NZ-FE the only time you'll actually need aftermarket tuning is if you go with forced induction.

I have not heard of and do not think the 1NZ ECU can be reflashed. if someone knows differently, please let me know. Your best bet for natural aspiration would probably be a CAMCON so you could adjust the VVT.

Factory wire harness splicing required, no harness available for the xA on this one.
