xA RS 2.0 Interior lighting
Well, I just found out some VERY interesting things. I talked extensively to a higher level Scion Rep tonight.
First off, as far as Scion Corporate is concerned the lighting on the RS 2.0 contains cup holder and front under dash lighting ONLY.
I also found out from them however, that since I live in Florida I fall under the "Southest Toyota" (SET) distributor network. The SET network sets-up and sells their own line of accesories and installation proceedures. It is entirely up to them if they want to install the "interior lighting kit" which includes the front AND back lighting rather than the front lighting only if they choose to do so. They also DON'T have to either.
This would also explain why I was able to get PORT installed 17" 6 spoke Enkei wheels on my xA, BUT Scion officially does not offer them. If you don't believe me, check this out. (I did this online with the Scion rep).
Go on the scion site and look under xA accesiories then click on wheels. All they offer is a 15" alloy wheel, BUT if you click on "build your own" and enter a FLORIDA zip code, you can add 17" Enkei wheels. That is because when you enter the zip code on "build your own", it gives you the accesories available for the particular distributor and REGION.
That is why when I called Scion for tire pressure info, Scion said they did not authorize that wheel/tire combo, so they had no information on it, yet I bought the car from a Toyota dealer and had the wheels installed at the port by Toyota.
That is also why there is so much conflicting information regarding the lighting. It all depends on where you live basically.
So everybody here was right, depending on where their car origiated from and what the particular distributor feels like putting on or substituting at the time.
Best Regards,
Johncal

Does anyone have the little postcard with the RS2.0 xA on it? There's usually a stack at the dealerships. That card states that the RS2.0 has a "color tuned AEM battery tiedown"
Perhaps we can go fight for that too

I picked up the xA RS 2.0 "postcard" at a local dealership when I went in to talk TRD springs, shocks & struts.
[Incidentally, my baby is there right now for the install (TRD springs, shocks & struts with installation including alignment: only $661.50!). I can't wait to see and drive my new and improved ride after work.]
OK, I'll get back on topic:
I noticed the same peculiarity on the card regarding the AEM oil filler cap. And I looked all over the place for any sign of a "*" or "optional at additional cost" but could not find anything.
I tend to believe the Scion website more than the "postcard". I consider the "postcard" to fall under the univeral "specifications subject to change without notice" clause that marketing types love to use.

Yeah I know the website has an asterisk by the AEM stuff, but some uneducated Scion salesman might not know that and pony up some free goods. You never know.
Heck my RS2.0 could have come with LESS, and I'd still love it.
