Thought about that, but what would be the cost of the conversion, not to mention the work of adding another pedal, and then rewiring all the transmission wiring. I have a spare auto right now, would probably be cheaper and easier to build it up if possible. Level 10 should be giving me a call back.

going to be about 2 to 3 more weeks for the pistons cause there was a issue with the forging and wiseco has to re-make them. gives me time to get a port and polish.

going to hold off on cams and valve train. figure that since most of this is custom, i decided to take it one step at a time. first swap motor. break it in. get a baseline. install turbo and intercooler. take another baseline. call crower with aforementioned numbers and figure out if cam work will be of any benefit.

Looks like someone's adding a fuel rail as well, what size injectors are you looking to go with?

i have stock tc 380's and celica 310's. most likely go with tc injectors for now.

now all i need is a flywheel and radiator for the swap.

does $350 sound like a good price for a port and polish?

yeah is going to be sick. i actually removed the crank today to hone out the cylinder block. looks nice and shiny. if anyone's interested down the road, i am going to build up the stock motor after i do the swap. but i imagine i'd be asking for a decent buck considering the cost of the pistons and rods alone.

pistons are just under $600 direct from wiseco. However, I would recommend buying the engine kit from ipp which includes the pistons for $969. Crower rods are $726. Then factor in cost of motor. Port & polish if one so chooses... it gets costly. Here's the breakdown of my cash outlay:
motor - 525
engine kit - 1000
rods - 725
fuel rail - 100
flywheel - 300
engine stand and various tools - 300
port & polish - 350
custom intake manifold - 700
koyo radiator - 250

that's all prep for a greddy turbo (2000.00) and intercooler (700.00) plus all the labor charges involved. Then emanage ultimate or aem ems plus various sensors and gauges. it just goes on and on.... luckily i am already divorced. had i still been married, this build alone would have led to a divorce

Pat Barret is the one talk to... I know him personally no one makes transmissions to handle power like he does

I feel you, upgrading puts a nasty dent into ones pocket. Why are you using the greddy turbo kit?? The Turbo Toyotas kit is very good. BTW, if you are going to use the greddy kit where are you going to buy it, i thought they were very extremely rare and anyone who does have one usually ends up customizing it.

All im missing in my setup is the Koyo radiator and flywheel. I have everything else already. Its been a $6,000 project and a pain in the a$$, but when i get on that throttle and feel the boost and the car just lunges forward, i remember why i love cars and spending money on them!!

it a lot of money but we need people to start thinking inside the box. It is so hard to find any REAL performance parts for our cars. Everyone says it is an econo car, a toaster, the motor can't make any real power etc etc etc..

If I wanted a performance car I would have bought an evo or sti ... if I wanted a car to make heads turn I would have boosted the box.. wait.. I did that.. and it made heads turn...

HAHAHA!!! I FEEL YOU!!! I think the same exact way. There is only 1 other person on the WHOLE island of Puerto Rico with a turbo xA. Even though PR is a very small place i have seen 5 turbo xB's and like 1000 turbo tC's. The xA is ALWAYS the under dog and im willing to accept that putting money into a 1NZ-FE is pretty stupid, but the turning head factor makes it ALL ALL ALL worth it.

Update: 5 weeks running and still no pistons. I was told that they will be shipped early this week. Got a fidanza flywheel yesterday :D now all i need is the lsd for the motor swap phase and then turbo and intercooler for phase 2.

alright!!! wiseco finally came through with my 9:1 pistons. Install went smooth. Just waiting for rod bolts to dry off so that I can lock up the rods. I'll take pics after this is done and then I'll put the oil pan back on. I haven't dropped of the head yet for the port and polish, so I won't be buttoning the engine up until then. Will drop it off this weekend and hopefully have it put together by next weekend.

also, the 2nd ring gap came within spec (16 thousandths) and I had to file 1 thousandths of the top ring to get the gap to 13 thousandths.
