Default vvti... same as vtec..

i have had lots of honda cars with swap.. i think a vvti swapped xb would run out like a gsr swaped hatch and then turbo over that..but the 6 speed would be nasty..

ive been considering this idea for some time, since i got the car, but weather it could bolt in and the electronics being a pain in the butt, kinda dont want to swap computers.

How close are your guys' engine bays to the Vitzs' engine bays?

Check it

Just to clarify, the Vitz is the Yaris, right?

Damn, I bet that little car is a blast to drive. Where did you find this photo, I would like to talk to the owner/builder?

ha ha okay very funny. I thought for a second that was one of the posters from page 1 who were talking about it already being done by people in P.R. or whoever. The left side looks good... the right side is a dead give away... I should have caught that! lol

The celica GTS and the corolla XRS have the same engine (2ZZ 1.8 ). And they are not quicked fast from the factory. In the 1/8th mile track around here I raced a stock one 4 times in a row and beat him by at least 3 car lengths every time.. Best he ran all night was a 10.2 @ 71.

i traded my box in for an XRS rolla and let me tell you, it screams! The redline is at 8200 rpm, full lift kicks in at 7000. i've drivin a lot of cars turbo and N/A and this thing kicks pretty hard for being N/A. BUT this car is not meant for short runs. it's a highway screamer. i've raced TC's a corvette (not a z06) 2 VR6 jettas, both modified (one is my cousins, he has intake, flowmaster, and GAIC chip). and a modified new eclipse MIVEC V6. i'm stock and i beat them all, but the Eclipse pulled on me in the end but by that time it was to late. Once this car is in lift it turns into something different and i love it! as far as the swap goes, it would be comparable to putting an H22 into a CRX, it can be done but somethings have to be modified. once this trend starts catching on, i believe hasport will make up some mounts for us. and if that happens i'm going to get another box! good luck to all those pioneers willing to try this out, keep us posted. by the way whatever happened to that guy that claimed to put a b18 in his box?

oh by the way, of course a tc is gonna be faster in the 8th, it has more torque, but try the quarter and things start to even up a lil. what did the guy have done to his XRS was it stock?

It was stock and it's wasn't just the 1/8th, we got in one quick race when we were leaving the track and went to about 110 or so, I had 2 cars on him and he was not catching up.

There is no chance you beat a corvette unless you're talking about a real old one.

Also, the new eclipse is a low 14 second car, trapping around 99-100mph stock.. A XRS corolla is not even going to be close to that.

I would love to race you in my tC. The guy I raced at the track was telling me the corolla was fast, he was really surprized when he saw me hitting 9.8-9.9's all night and he couldn't do better then a 10.2 on his best run.

i would love to race you, i like the tc don't get me twisted but they are to different classes. as far as you not trusting what i say, consider this, their is a young man around here that put a turbo on his tc and he's running 14's. it's all relative to driving experience, and skill. but back on topic, put the 2zz in a box or xa and you have a screamer, that will without a doubt beat stock tc's.

Ive seen this engine swap done on 3 yaris and 2 echos here in Puerto Rico, they run incredibly strong and fast, so i guess it can be done. Im just wating to find the crazy mechanic thats willing to do this for me...
