I was thinking about buying the Injen IS2100 short ram from a sponsored sale here on SL for ~160, and I was wondering if I should get a K&N cone filter for the end, or should I just stick with what comes with it.
Thanks, as always.

Injen has some great filters on the end of their intakes. Some of them come with the brand new Amsoil dry filter which is better than any conical filter out there. I would say stick to what comes with the Injen on my personal experience.

From our experience with selling Injen intakes since 1999, Injen do recommend that you replace it with Injen filter for optimal performance. On some model vehicle, by replacing it with another brand name filter, you may even get a check engine light.

ahh ok I'll just keep the standard one then. how often do I need to replace it? and once I get the intake do i remove the stock air filter in the box?
When you install the new intake, it replaces the existing intake. Have a look at the YDR intake install (very similar to the Injen IS2100). https://www.scionlife.com/forums/scion-xa-xb-1st-gen-drivetrain-power-1638/diy-ydr-intake-install-32120/
