I can pick up the supercharged mr2 engines for under 1,000 shipped the last time I checked and got one for a customer. Not bad if they would go in there..........without too too much hassle.

The celica swap has been done in the UK, need MAJOR engine bay restructuring though.

Hey heres an Idea just swap to 20v blacktop 4age, save your cash and then buy a supercharger. It wont need any reconstructing of engine bay becuase its only .1 liter difference. Hows that for an Idea. Do you research kids.

doing the normal 4age engine will do nothing performance wise since it is rated at lower horsepower then the engine that comes in scion. the only benefit would be a large amount of tuning parts available, but if your going to spend the money then go with the supercharged version.
Are you retarted? The Blacktop 20v is rated at 160hp and 165 ft/lbs. Thats way more then our stock engine.
from an person that owned (3) MKI mr2s you said 4AGE. That means you are talking about the 105hp 4AGE from the MKI mr2 which is why i said the normal 4AGE. Doing a 20 Valve is completely different and you should of mentioned that. 20 Valve is nice engine, but would probably need more modification. The 20 Valve engine should be used for an all motor engine since it is a high reving engine.

Its not a high reving engine. And 4age refers to the class not just one generation.

being an owner of an mk1... the 4age is a high revving engine. even the 20valve black top.

Sence when is 7400 high revving??? 13000 is high reving, 7400 is nothing for a Japanese 1.6L I4 engine.

correction: it is spelled since

the black top does not red line at 7400 rpms. it makes peak horsepower at 7800 rpms. sure 13,000 is high reving, but that is a race car and not a street car. for a street car 7800 is high reving.
one more educational lesson. look at this site and notice how he calls out "20 V" when talking about the 4AGE family. That is the proper way to call it out.

http://club4ag.com/faq%20and%20tech_...4ren012003.jpg

the silver top was made from 1993 to 1995 at 160hp and cut at 8500
the blacktop from 1996 to 1998 was 165hp and cut at 8500 with a bit more torque. its a high revving engine, the TRD tune up make it capable of developping 225hp@11 000rpm. some people install a turbo instead. the base is a 1.6liter block.

"just because i am an owner?"... you say...? im only 19 and obviously know more on this topic than you. i wonder what else? common sense maybe?

Read what you wrote dumbass, people people on a turbo because the stock 20v isnt high-revving. Most Japanese I4 rev to between 7-9k rpms, its normal. Get your ____ straight. Therefore, it would be a rare occasion to see I4 engine to rev above 9, which would make it a high-revving engine. And just because you watch too much Inital D doesnt mean you know anything about engines.

HA.... I'm not going to bother looking at this thread anymore!!! Grow up children and get back on topic. The question was about engine swaps.... not who knows more about a certain engine series....
