I like the flinstone idea ... that should get you unlimited MPG ...
unless you ONLY drive down hill and don't push the gas pedal ... you won't come anywhere near 60MPG ...

When I wrote the President's speech for tonight, I had "Emphasize 60/40 gas/water ratio" in it. As usual, W got it backwards and said "Promote use of alternative fuels" instead" which wasn't nearly as specific as what I told him to say.

The new Toyota Vitz in Japan (Echo in the states) gets 60mpg. But that's with the 1.0 liter engine, a CVT, and it's also a mild hybrid. That is, the engine cuts off when you are stopped and just turns on the engine when you take your foot off the brake. It doesn't give any propulsion from the electric starter motor.
