Need some help ! I have a Toyota IST or some call it Scion xA 2004 model which is an AWD version. The problem is let's say I'm accelerating from a stationary point with speeds less than 60km/h for some reason if I remove my foot from the accelerator of which the Rev is about to shift to the next gear assuming Gear No. 2 from 1 the car changes/shifts the gear albeit un-smooth/rough and its NOT like a feeling of clunking sound. When I say clunking sound is a sound where u can feel some metal to metal have impact. NO it is not like that it feels like for example you know when u drive a manual car imagine u press the accelerator and release the clutch when changing gears u can feel the car kind of jumps/jerks this is exactly kind of feeling. sometime there is delayed shifting but it doesn't happen all the time ! you can feel this jerk propagating up to the rear diff its not that bad but its annoying!
1. I have changed gearbox oils even put the best the in market
2. I have cleaned the sample guards
3. I have removed and checked my Propeller shaft ..nothing wrong
4. I removed the whole gearbox threw it away and bought another gearbox which worked fine but the same issue came again!
What to do? some people say it might be a solenoid or ECU issue any hints? others says AWD Toyota cars are a problem I should change it to 2WD.
If its an ECU issue is there a modded version of an ECU or an aftermarket ECU I could replace ?
