Default How do I remove the Battery?

I'm a total car newbie and i need help in removing the Scion battery. I can't remember if I remove the positive or the negative first.

And in what order do I reconnect the terminals? Do I need rubber gloves or anything like that? Are there any screws holding the clamps in place?

alright... you got two nuts holding the clamps on... you take the negative off first and set it aside. then take the positve off and set it aside. then you loosen the two nuts on the bracket, from the top of the bracket push away from the battery and pull up.. there are little hooks at the bottom that hook into holes in the body. set the bracket aside and pull the battery out. put the positve on first then the negative.. i don't really think it matters, but that's the way i do it. you don't need gloves, it won't shock you.

Just be careful not to put anything that's conductive on top of the battery that would/could touch both battery posts at the same time.

allways remove the negative first and install it last. this way if you slip with the wrench, you wont make sparks.

Don't ground out the positive side when taking it off... I did this on my Stealth and it sparked pretty good.

Also don't install it backwards, bad idea too (I've seen too many people try this before).

its only 12 volts, you wont get shocked. the only way you MIGHT feel a little tingle is if you lick your fingers, and then hold onto BOTH posts at the same time.
