Default My car won't start at all..

My 2006 Toyota Scion xA won't start at all. I tired jumping it and it didn't work. So we charged the battery and then tired it again and it still won't start.
The head lights come on and that's all. So I don't know why it won't start. Dose anyone have an idea of what might be wrong with it and why it won't start

Bad starter? Does it try and turn over at all?

no it won't even turn over at all. The head lights are the only power the car has.

I would start with fuses, make sure none are blown. If they aren't then it's probably the starter.

Get a test light and see if the starter solenoid is receiving a signal at all.

If nothing else turns(radio/accys) on it is probably a fuse, bad wiring, or the ignition switch.

the common factor here seems to be the ignition switch and related wiring. once again check fuses and relays.

Have someone stand behind the car while you press the brake. If the lights don't work then the stop fuse is blown which is why it won't let you shift out of park.

I know this might sound stupid but is it AT / or manual..
I had a similar problem and it was my clutch pedal switch... my friend had something similar and it was the gear selector since she has auto trans...
check the gear, make sure the pedal is all the way.. simple things to bypass..
good luck..

That confused me.

Sounds like a relay, probably the accessory relay. Or some bad wires going to the ignition switch. Or the ignition switch.

Look into changing your fusible link , $35 part from dealer.

Default Check your grounds

I just fixed my 2012 xB that wouldn't start about 10% of the time. I would hookup my jump box and without adding power from the jump box and the car would start. I ran another ground from the neg battery terminal to the starter mounting bolt and it starts really quick every time.
I would check out your grounds and if you run a new ground wire like I did ! Don't share your new ground wire with any existing grounds, that's why I went to the starter. Good luck@
