Any balancing issues here? I thought that the crank pulley also acts as a damper (thats how the xB service manual refers to it as well- "crank damper"). Anyways, I know that Weapon-R makes an engine damper for the xB. I understand that its a totally different thing then a crank pulley, but perhaps this could take out some engine vibration caused by the lightened pulley? Any thoughts?

The Weapon R damper is supposed to reduce engine twist caused by torque (I really dont see how that will do much more than a good engine mount but....
The "Crank Damper" is supposed to reduce rotation vibration, kinda like wheel weights reduce vibration on a balanced tire.

Default Thank you!

Thank you munch for your candid remarks about the pulley. We have somehow become unsubscribed to the previous fourm about the mis-made gen one part. All of the customers that purchased the item directly from us were taken care of VERY quickly. There was a communication breakdown between one of our dealers that added some additional time for many of the affected customers. To all of oyu please accept our apologies.

For those wishing to get the pulley please visit www.perrinperformance.com for a list of dealers or simply call us directly at 503-643-4677. (The pulley page for the SCION is under construction. This should be up in about 3 business days. Again our apologies.)

Thanks again to everyone at SCION Life for your patience. If ever I can be of assistance please just let me know!

Mine is the same way. If I am really wailing on the car, the clutch slips in 2nd and 3rd. I wasnt sure if I was the only one or not....

Nope they put a cheapo clutch in these cars. But I have a much better clutch to put in once I get the time.

Hey everyone just though i'de toss in my two cents about the perrin pulley. It is a great product and actually lessend some vibration in the engine. Also seems to have improved the throttle a little . Lastly it seems to have given the little box a bit more pull getting into higher acceleration. overall seems to be a very well built part. Dont Fear the MOD it is good and easy to install.

question for those that have installed this pulley ... whats the level of difficulty on install

ive installed the injen short ram on my box already - would ytou say this is easier / harder then doing that ?

also .. what kind of instructions does the pulley come with ? are they as detailed as the injen ones ?

thanx in advance

The pulley is very easy to install. It does not come with instructions , but you really don't need any. Just remove the old one and replace it with the Perin Pulley. It's simple.

one more question before i head over to vivid and get mine

how hard is it getting to the actual pulley .. i think you mentioned getting 2 belts off ... is this something i could possibly mess up ? .. im not one to usually mess with the engine but this sounds like a sick mod ...

thanx again

tom
