Default Removing Muffler?

Would there be any ill effects running without a muffler, besides getting it smoged? I been seeing it a lot lately and you can get the same hearty sound without paying 150+ for a Descent muffler.

I'm just tired of taking these hills around where I live and having to juice the throttle a lil, and it sounding like an asthmatic hamster.

You're going to lose pretty much all of your low end torque if you remove it. The engine needs some degree of backpressure to maintain torque.

i didnt even think bout that, thanx for mentioning it. u think theres any mod i could do to the muff. that would prevent the pressure loss, i know it would be way easier to just buy a new muff. but im tryin to be a lil thrifty. its hard times, and i gotta cold wallet.

Check craigslist or ebay for used ones... hell, there are decent ones that you can get for cheap... a friend of mine was trying to sell his on here for the longest time, I wonder if that's still available.

There's a reason those things are attached!
if you want more sound, try removing your snorkel. It makes the engine a little louder and i feel like it made a little more noise all together. I got my axle back exhaust off of ebay for 100 used (it had scratches on the bottom. if you can see those, I'm running you over and thus don't care what you think). There's some sweet deals out there.
