Scion XA Fuel Filter Help!!!
Guys please help me!!!!
Ok here is the deal;
I have a Scion XA 2005, for about 3-4 days ago the car has been stalking when you accelerate at around 10-20mph; it just gets stuck and wont speed up for a sec or two then move normally. I check the intake everything is connected fine and all; yesterday the check engine light came up and i used a reader and read the code P0172. I looked it up saying could be the oxygen sensor and something with the fuel not being delivered correctly. Now the only thing that comes in mind is that i have never changed the fuel filter and i have 57,860 miles on my car. I went to auto parts and told me they don't have one for my car.
Now i need help in is has any other owner had the same problem and if so what did you do. Also if it is the fuel pump how do i remove it and change it; and i assume i have to buy it in the dealer.
Please guys any help would be great, i am afraid of moving the car far.

P0172 means the car is running lean and trying to dump (add) 25% fuel over what it is suppose to delivering.
The most common for either a p0171 or p0172 is the MAF sensor is dirty, pull it out and look at the two elements for the airflow sensor. If it has a big blob of dirt then that is your problem. Clean it off, pull the EFI fuse (to reset the ecm) for 5min, install fuse. That will provide hard reset, clearing the dtc and resetting the fuel trims.
The fuel filer is really a soc on the fuel pump in the fuel tank, (does not need to be replaced) befor going that route check your fuel pressure, but befor that pull the MAF sensor and check for dirt.
