Speed Panel is off after a while..

Scion xB 2005. When starting the engine, the Engine Speed Panel is off after a while.

If you mean the instrument panel/cluster than it could possibly mean it is failing or faulty. If your talking about the speedometer than you could have a faulty Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). If you could give more details it would help.
