xA Won't Start!
Hello!
The other day, I went to tighten my girlfriend's alternator belt (very squeaky) but loosening the bolt, it snapped. I took the alternator out, drilled out the bolt, and put it back. There was half of a connector right above it, and I looked and I had broken the VVTi sensor connector. Fast forward a few days when I got the part in. I put it in, the car started right up. No check engine light, no bad sounds or anything. The squealing was gone. I turned it off and on 6-7 times and it started perfectly every time. This morning, my girlfriend goes to start it and it won't start. I did not check the voltage, but it sounds exactly the same as when it starts normally. After about 5 seconds of cranking, it'll start, but it'll stall out as soon as I let off the gas. I went and checked all of my connections, belts, and everything that I moved. They were all still fine. Those few seconds it would stay running, it would sound horribly sick, like it wasn't getting fuel. It sounded like it was choking. The mechanic is not a 45 second drive away, but they don't make house calls and a tow truck will cost about $80 to get there.
What do I do?
