Default Transmission Speed Sensor..

Good afternoon all.

I own a 2009 Scion xB, I've nicknamed it "The Toaster." anyways, I received a warning that my transmission speed sensor needed to be replaced. So I took it to a shop and had them replace it. However, when I was driving home, I had the same error pop up on my OBDI reader. I checked and found out that my particular car has two of those sensors. The car has over 170K miles. I called the mechanic and he advised that perhaps the transmission may need to be replaced. That'll cost about 900ish dollars for replacement and installation. I don't think that warrants a replacement like that, considering it might be the other sensor that's faulting out.

What do you all think?

A warning? From your mechanic? What's the actual code?
