I will be there Sunday, im at a show tomorrow. I'll be running the bracket racing. i want to run the heads up class, but qulifying for that is Saturday, so i wont be able to do heads up class. It will be cool to see u there. met u @ the Roanoke show

 

it's definately not jealousy. if you believe that a supercharged 1nz with 35shot that's getting raced will last a long time you're high. will it last a while? hells yes. will it last a long time? hell no.

anyone can take my posts how they like negatively or factual or whatever I DON'T CARE. I tell it how it is from experience , whether it's my own or others. let's just say professionally tuned 1nz's with much less abuse have died very easily.



oh and blown_xa i'm not saying nor have I ever said that motor will die after 10 runs. it shouldnt after that many but who knows . what I AM saying is that by boosting AND shooting you are SIGNIFICANTLY reducing your engine's life.

never did I say now , or newxt week , or next month. all I'm saying is yes you may be squeezing a lot out of the 1nz but with that much going ***** out something will break. and that yer pushing it too far imo. but then again all i want is 14's and daily driven. 2k PLUS miles per month and last for years if possible , or hell at least till 70k.

if cali wasn't a horrible state with horrible law's i'd probably be running much faster than you right now. BUT I don't like hefty5k plus fines and jail time so I'm not.

 

oh and if what I say comes across as negative to you all , maybe you guys should wake up from la la land. i tell it like it is. may the info be bad or good. it's truh. supercharging and running nitrous at the same time on a stockish 1nz will SEVERLY detract from it's life.

when I posted earlier about not being streetable i messed up trying to say what i wanted to say. what I meant is you run the motor hard like that there's a much greater possibility it will crap out on you in say in my situation a long 500 mile round trip for my work and then i'd be sol.

 

you obviously havent been around too long...guess what guys...I boosted a 1nz also...whoopty f#ckin doo...you know what else, I ran my car from anywhere from 6 psi-13 psi on an automatic xB which would have ran 14's without juice...again, big whoopty f#ckin doo. You know what else, do some f#ckin reading in the f/i forum and see what kind of info I dished out to every single person trying to go turbo on a 1nz, the countless PM's and IM's that I have responded to over the past year...what have you done for this community?? I was probly turbo'd before half of you even got your cars so wheres the hate now? Then you go into the whole shame on you the way you were raised...who the hell do you think you are? Okay, first off i know hotbox isn't jealous, he does speak truth and wether its negative or not, its usually true otherwise its opinion.

Not upgrading rods, pistons, (piston rings are sure to be destroyed after long) as well as parts of the tranny and other aspects of the motor can not handle boost + nitrous. Its not a 1nz insult, a ton of motors in stock internal form wouldn't be able to handle that kind of punishment all the time. Even done just on the track, it will cut down the life of the motor significantly. Its not a insult to blown_xa or anyone else, its just fact. And i'm sure if blown_xa has done the work himself, and has basic knowledge of how a motor works..He would agree.

Also, i wouldn't argue with simplyscion either. Although he drives a heavy, underpowered per liter tC ( ) now, he did boost his box and he probably ran almost the same times as blown is doing with his set up. Minus the nitrous. One or the other, the motor will be fine so long as proper work is done to ensure the saftey of the motor and its life. Doing both at the same time is a ticking time bomb ready to go off, period. So spawnconnery, quit being such a damn ___ over this and learn something from those who have actually been there before, and put forth the effort.

Blown; after reading through some of your posts. For a 1.5l economy car 14 is fast? I'm sorry, did you miss majority of honda's running near 12's or faster, with a streetable car? Majority of them started out as economy cars. I agree, 14 is very quick for a street car and its definitely something to be proud of. However, calling out Munch is a . Not because i feel you would be smoked, but simply because you need to have more respect than that with people like munch, simply, and hotbox. These guys know what they are talking about, and when you lash at them you are just digging yourself a hole.

People like you is why i hate this community. Usually its tC owners with the ridiculous amount of vs. threads and calling out cars that could easily out perform them in more than just one way. But never the less, a few xb/xa owners are starting to get to that point too. Not so much with over-rating their cars, but their attitude towards people here that should be demanded to have a little more respect than what you have shown.

Bottom line is this, i don't care if you've gone 10,000 straight on your current set up with no problems. The life span of the 1nz without upgrading some parts constantly mentioned above, its just not going to last. It can run perfect today, and flat out be a blown motor tomorrow. Its unpredictable, and thats why you are getting **** by those who actually know something. I've noticed that the people that give you all props, are those that appear to be newbies and haven't been experienced enough yet to know better.

killerx, Ive read their damn posts before, hotbox and simplyscion, and to be honest, their posts of negativity on this thread are not wanted or needed. Nobody is saying that the 1nz will last forever if its boosted or are even talking about how long it will last at all. We're just rocking on something somebody did to their car that is the same as ours. If yall have a problem with blown_xa, that is what a pm is for. If your looking for a flame war, which is what Im suspecting, then you come into a thread like this and say the most inflammatory things you can.

If any of you bust out with some extremely cool boosting of an xa, and not only that, put it on the track and get vids of it, then we would enjoy that too. Hey, if you did that then maybe you wouldnt be so jealous! killerx, Im not surprised you hate this community. That quote of yours above speaks volumes.

Cant you guys just lighten up? simplyscion, Ive read your posts before and Ive actually thought about asking you some questions about your boosting of the 1nz-fe, but it dont sound like you want to talk about it anymore and you are definitely against it. What happened with yours to make you sell it? Ive not seen that post. I know Ive read that you threw cels alla time. But anyways, I digress.

blown_xa, good show and way to go at the shootout. If I can get anymore vids, Ill post em unless you dont want me to (and I can understand why you would feel that way now).

 

Sometimes ignorance also speaks louder than anything you can say to defend blown. Don't understand? Let me explain:
1. Xb and Xa are basically the same car on a different platform, sharing the exact same motor.
2. Simplyscion used to own a boosted Xb, its the exact same thing as a boosted Xa only a different body with very small detail differences.
3. No body is jealous. Hotbox has one of the, if not the fastest n/a xb right now holding strong to the 15.6-15.8 times. Simplyscion's old xb, an auto, would have ran almost as fast of times as blown. And thats not using nitrous. I, am much more of an autocross/road course guy myself. But i do hold the fastest n/a auto time that i know of, record being 15.98 with a stripped interior, and full interior of 16.3. I have no desire to build a fast 1/4 car, i only to desire to continue doing autocross. Aside from that, i did the quarter stuff with my previous car.
4. Hotbox is pretty well known for speaking his mind. And thats because he speaks of what most wouldn't dare to say here, why? Because of the mods. Simplyscion also can have his moments, but overall i have seen very few posts of his point in a negative way. Which by the way, i have seen none of that here. They aren't saying blown is making a mistake, hotbox is just stating what should be the obvious about the motor. And Simply is doing some of the same, as well as defending himself of crap you guys say. For what? Because he drives a tC? Please, just because you drive one car doesn't mean you are ignorant about another car. It just means thats what you drive.

If you seriously have a problem with what anyone is saying that isn't sugar coated and full of bliss, fine. But don't accuse us for being jealous over this guys xa. Great job, we all agree on that. But your taking our posts, and saying well he said ____ and completely igorning the fact no one has put down the fact he has a 14 second xa and his work that went into it.

 

WOW you guys take this way too seriously. You only live life once, a car is just a hunk of metal. This all is so funny because the guys who are trying to prove a point here have never boosted a 1.5.(hotbox) so what can they possibly know, or never ran it at the track continusely if they have(simply). And it's also funny cause numerious posts inquire that anything above 6psi of boost on the motor and u blow a rod within 12,000 miles. I'm hitting 11psi. Just goes to show u that lots of info on this forum is complete nonsense. WHEN U GUYS BLOW UP AN XA, LET ME KNOW, until then, then info u force upon me is crap.

an xA and an xB are the exact same mechanically. and I HAVE boosted a 1.5 before.......

oh and the whole 6 psi blowing is true it's not nonsense. a lot of peopel early on with 1nz's were blowing low because of detonation and preignition.... basically bad engine management....
