Is there any way to mount the intercooler above or slightly behind the bumper support? Not that I don't have experience with cut bumper supports, but I got a family now, and this is a family car (just want it to be fun when im alone) so it needs to be as safe as possible..

Here was my old cut support:

The crossbar is trimmed but not near as much as your Civic. I have it in a way that you keep the strongest part of the bar. You are only cutting the lower half. You could however mount the intercooler under the bar if you wanted to keep it. You would then need some sort of front lip as the intercooler would stick out under the factory bumper. You would also need 2 longer pieces of silicone coupler to make up the difference in the distance from the intercooler to the chargepipes( hope that makes sense)

Well after a long weekend with this auto xB I have some good news and some bad news.

Bad news first:

No dyno sheet. The car couldn't be put on the dyno. The shop I was using uses a mustang dyno(thought they had a dyno jet). Mustang dynos don't like autos. They have a terrible ignition pickup which just makes it even tougher.( if anyone has any doubts ask a good tuner)

We did all the tuning on the street. Which for daily driven cars in my opionion is much better anyways. Dynos are good, but nothing beats true reality.

I am going to make another post about a certain issue we had.(bad ecu adapter which was totally wired wrong, made for allot of headaches and a bad MAF sensor)

The good news:

I know this is coming from me, but holy @#!& the car rips. The auto really suprised me. The power is instant. And what a blast to drive. I am getting my hands on some video equipment today so while I still have the car I will be making some video for all you to see.

It was a long weekend but well worth it in the end.

I owe a big thank you to allot of people:

Mitch and Bret from Vivid Racing. For all there help and patience.
My wire guru Ryan, for all his help. I basically wasted his weekend.
For all who I called for help(including Kenny at ZPI) Much thanks.

Bring on the questions.

Thanks

Todd

Looking forward to making the vids. Should be fun.

No dyno #'s of this car will happen. No local dynojets that I would take it too. And the customer really doesn't care about how much power it makes. He flew in last night just to drive it for 5 minutes then left again, with the biggest smile I have ever seen. As long as he is happy I am happy. How much power it makes is irrelevant.

All dyno #'s will be coming from customers cars which should be happening soon.

Will be posting some new pictures of the car and the complete install later tonight.

Thanks

Todd

Question for you TurboToyotas.

When you buy the kit it comes with the internal wastegate(7psi), is there a way I could buy another wastegate to hold more psi?

Can't wait to see some videos and more pictures. I hope someone with an xA has this kit.

Keep in mind whatever the wastegate spring you are using wether it be internal or external the level of the spring being used is as low as you can go. You can always turn it up by using a boost controller.

The turbo I offer in the kit comes with either a 7psi or 13psi internal wastegate. Say you wanted to run 10 psi. You would use the 7psi internal gate then use a boost controller to turn it up. If you selected the 13psi internal gate you won't be able to boost less than 13psi. Hope that makes sense. Ask If it doesn't.

I have recently shipped 2 xA kits, so hopefully one of them will be posting on the forums.

Regards-

Todd

Sucks to hear about the harness Todd. Glad to see you got the car tuned, and some kits shipped though.

I look forward to seeing some more progress, and some dyno numbers in the future.

ok for a cali person like me, how much trouble would it be to put on a turbo, then remove and retune for smog then put it back on? would it be worth it if i knew someone who could tune or teach me to tune the car? or should i just stay n/a or maybe go with NOS? ty

Are you going to be doing the work or you going to pay to have it done?
This could make a huge difference as most shops will probaly charge at least $1000.00 to do an install and probably the same to take it off and put it back on.
Just work out a deal if you have it installed.

Smog checks are every 2 years correct?
