I called mine in today and got a reference number. I talked to "Lisa" who told me she has taken other calls for the same issue. All I wanted was to be counted so they know the extent of the problem and so that when they come up with a fix or replacement I'm on the list .

She said something about going back to the dealer and was to call me back. I missed the call so hopefully will hear tomorrow.

Good news, good news, good news, have I got good news!
I just got my 06 xB back from Toyota of Fort Worth for a radio swap...

...UNDER WARRANTY! And the service guys were great.

It took about 2 weeks for the replacement radio to come in. It took the dealership about 1 week to realize that the radio had come in and to call me. And finally I took my car in to swap it out and it took only about 45 min. They even set my stations in the new radio for me.

Toyota and Pioneer both know about this problem.

Yes it is the same model with the turnable volume button, not the 05 up/down push buttons.
Like I said it took a while for the radio to get here but no station flips yet.
I will postback every Monday morning to give an update on the new radio. Good luck everyone.

UPDATE ON MINE!!!!

The new one they put in screws up too!!!! Apparently Scion sent the dealership one of the old, non-fixed radios to install. BOO!!! BUT I called them last week, they called me back the next day and said they'd talked to Scion, and they're sending a new FIXED radio. Apparently there was something with the tuner and volume buttons that was messing it all up. SO... I get that fixed Wednesday ALONG WITH my FIRST oil change!!! YAY!!! lol. Oh yeah, and it's all under warranty.

I will be calling Scion and getting a reference number. They are NOT aware of this issue yet and it will take ALL of us to call in for them to realize the issue.

Some posting here said that Toyota/Scion/Pioneer knows about this issue. With whom are you talking? We need to know.....
Thayer Toyota Scion in Bowling Green Ohio. Call and talk to them, they told me that Toyota/Scion knows about the problem and they are getting new radios in with the glitch repaired. As long as they get it fixed sometime in the 36,000 miles i have on that warranty, I'll be fine. lol.

My dad & I have the same change problem in our 2006 xb"s. He in NM and I in NJ. It seems to happen when the car is cold and within the first few seconds of starting the cold car. It happens before I even back out of the garage. Once it happens and I put it back to the station I was on it doesn't happen again. Apparently Pioneer & Toyota knows about this problem. I'm waiting on a new radio which has been ordered and my dad has had his replaced.

I've had my 06 xB since late-November 2005....I haven't noticed this problem in mine. But thansk to my ADD, I'm always switching stations and to my disc every song anyways.

I'll try to pay closer attention.

Yup, have a 2006 xB that just started the station switching thing a week ago! Usually does it first thing in the morning, and the radio will tune up to static from the pre-set station I put it on. Usually happens no more than twice, and then it stays put. I'm definately going to contact Scion.

Alright... Mine was replaced for the 2nd time, and this radio is different. YAY! The volume control **** is easier to turn, so it makes me think that it's actually fixed. lol. I think mine is the first to be replaced with the new radio from Scion/Pioneer. It works, hasn't had any glitches (yet), and I'm happy with it... for now. haha.

I know it's been less than a week, but have you had any luck with the new one?

Is it possible for you to get part numbers or anything to help us others? My dealer still has not heard of the problem. (although I still have to call Scion)

Default I have the same problem with my Camo '06 xB.

I have the same problem with my Camo '06 xB.

I called Scion Customer Experience at 1-866-707-2466 and they gave me a reference # and said they were aware of the problem. They said a Scion Specialist would be calling me within 1 business day about this issue.

Meanwhile i have made an appointment with my Dealer for next Wednesday (1/25/06) and by then i should have answers from Scion to give to the Dealer so I don't have to waste much time.

Thank you for all that posted their experiences so our claim has some backing when we go to the Dealer. For reference my Dealer is Heartland Toyota/Scion in Bremerton WA.

I will let you know what transpires.

I haven't had any glitches in the new radio, it's working great.

YOUR DEALER NEEDS TO CALL SCION AND HAVE A NEW RADIO ORDERED!!! You shouldn't have to go do all this stuff yourself, it's the dealer's job. If they haven't heard about it, tell them to call Scion themselves.

My 06 Xb not only does the station flip, but it also randomly shuts off and also all the buttons stop working when turned back on. My dealership has a new one ordered, hope its one of the new fixed ones.
