No... it shouldn't. I have a system installed also, so you should have no problem. Only thing is... did you connect the remote wire to the stock radio harness? They might give you crap about that... I'd re-route the remote wire to its own separate switch, PLUS that also gives you more control over your bass when there are cops around.

UPDATE: Called Scion they had someone call me back and they had my Scion Rep for my dealership call me back. He said he would talk to the Service Manager at my Scion Dealership so they could work something out before my appointment.

Went through with my appointment and despite the Scion Rep saying he would talk with the service manager nobody did anything. I walked out to the Service area and the guy ran my xB for like 45 mins to see if the radio changed on him. It didn't of course.

I knew i would waste my time going there. Until there is a Service # in their computer for that issue they say they can't do anything.

Okay... pulling out my sheet from the dealership when I got mine replaced...

Complaint:
WHEN ADJUSTING VOLUME ON RADIO- CHANNELS WILL CHANGE AT THAT TIME
CAUSE: CHANGES STATIONS ON ITS OWN. PREV REPL RADIO WAS SENT OUT WITHOUT UPDATES. FIXED NOW PER ERIKA AT PIONEER. REF# 51D421250

Feel free to give them that reference number... maybe it'll help.

also... the dealership isn't too smart and they called my car green. lol.

OK I think this is week 3 since radio switch under warranty. It happened yesterday am & today am.

I think I figured out when it happens:
1) Under 40 degrees
2) Within first minute of starting the car

If everyone else will try to remember when it happens & remember all the other factors that might have bering. We could be a big help to Scion & Pioneer to maybe figure this problem out.
Thanks everybody.

Closing in on 6 month with my '06 Toaster. No radio issues as of yet. But, it has been a fairly warm winter here so far. If and when it ever gets cold, I'll have to pay close attention.

Yeah see with my 2006 xB it only happens within the first minute after I start my xB. From what I remember. There are no bumps on my street to worry about.

i think it doesn't have to do with software, but rather, sticky keys.

What do you mean sticky keys? I listen to one station 1310AM & I never use the up/down tune button. And it still goes up or down.

I've had two '06 xB's now. The first I had from 1/2 - 1/12/06 and the other from 1/12 until now and it happens often in the morning and occasionally on the beginning of my commute home but never when the car is "warm".

I had it happen when the car is warm... but it doesn't really matter, it shouldn't happen at all.

My radio changes the channel on my usually with in the first 10 minutes of me starting my car. They know its a n issue, but they ain't gonna fix it. It would cost them too much.

I bet they will fix them. It just may take a little time. Pioneer will have to build HU's for both the production vehicles and the surplus required to replace the faulty units.

Similar situation: All the HU's in the first 6 months of production in the '01 Honda Civic EX's were faulty. At start up the HU would reset, loosing the time, presets, and audio adjustments. This required the operator to input the anti-theft code and reset everything........every time the car was started.

It took Honda 8.5 months to finally get us a new HU. I was at my wit's-end by then though.

I noticed this problem the other day... only happened once, but now I'll be looking for it. It was about 45 degrees when it happened, but I think the radio was on for awhile. Hmmm guess I'll call for a reference number anyway!

I recently started having this same issue occasionally. Does anyone know if I can upgrade to the iPod HU instead of straight across when I get a replacement?
