Default 2006 tC AUX INPUT Question...

Hello everyone, Let me just start off by saying that i have searched previous posts for the answer to my question, but i can't seem to find a definitive answer... so if this has been posted before, i apologize...

Ok, so I have a 2006 tC and i'm having a hard time understanding how to listen to something (like an ipod) through the AUX input.

While i DO have the AUX input in the console, between the 2 front seats, i DO NOT have any type of button on my stereo that says "Aux" or that plays the ipod when it's plugged in. My only buttons are FM/AM/CD & SAT.

While searching through previous posts i saw that someone had mentioned that pressing the CD button twice will activate the AUX input, but i tried this and nothing happened.

So, does anyone know how i would get the stereo to play something that is plugged in to the AUX input? Am i just missing something here?!

ANY help or info would be appreciated!

Thanks!
dave.

can you take a pic of your head, min has the buttons clearly labeled:

AM/FM DISC
SAT AUX

so you do have one of those cords with two headphone jacks on both ends right, plug it in, turn the player on, then turn the car/head on, if anything try scrolling through the modes with teh steering controls. as a note, if there's no player attached to the AUX line, the system won't scroll through it.

i had the same prob. had an 05 hu in my 06 tc if you dint have a **** in the middle, take the car back to the dealer, and they can replace the HU right there. and if they give u crap, ask them how you are supposed to choose AUX with no AUX button lol that what i did lol

hey, thanks for the quick responses...

batjew - unfortunately, i can't take a photo tonight, but i can tell you that the 4 buttons in the center of the unit are defnitely CD (left), AM (top), SAT (right) and FM (bottom). And thanks for that video. that was definitely interesting to see, because i've never seen the MP3 option on mine, like yours had. i can play mp3s when they're burned on to a CD, but i dont know what you did to actually get the MP3 setting up on the display like that.

ack154 - no, there is no **** in the center of the 4 buttons. just a solid piece of plastic. i even pushed it, hoping it would turn out to be some sort of unmarked button, but no such luck!

I'm beginning to wonder if my car has the wrong stereo installed, because what would be the purpose of the AUX input if there's NO AUX option?

...This may turn out to be a question for the dealership.

Jaymz,

The dealer installed the wrong head unit into your 06. Take it back and have them swap it out for an 06. Shouldn't take them more then 15 minutes.

are you sure you have a 2006 tc or 2005?

my 06 head, either the dealer lied or ..... how about this, at the bottom right corner, does it say T1805 or T1807 you should have an 07. and the MP3 is for the cd, i don't really play regular cds anymore :D
