5.25" for midbass?
I have a pair of Boston Pro 5.4s. I recently acquired a set of 4.4s for midrange, and, of course, I have the tweeters and crossovers.
If I adequately deaden the doors in my Scion xB, and build a solid baffle, will I be able to get decent midbass out of these mids? The Bostons were never known for solid midbass, but with enough IB space (or a sealed enclosure), it might be feasible.
To that end, how will I protect the mids from moisture in the doors? The XTC foam baffles will keep them from running true IB, but what if I perforated the baffles and put some kind of water resistant membrane inside? Would a nylon sheet work? What's out there that resists water but lets air flow through?
Thanks
