Default 5.25" for midbass?

I have a pair of Boston Pro 5.4s. I recently acquired a set of 4.4s for midrange, and, of course, I have the tweeters and crossovers.

If I adequately deaden the doors in my Scion xB, and build a solid baffle, will I be able to get decent midbass out of these mids? The Bostons were never known for solid midbass, but with enough IB space (or a sealed enclosure), it might be feasible.

To that end, how will I protect the mids from moisture in the doors? The XTC foam baffles will keep them from running true IB, but what if I perforated the baffles and put some kind of water resistant membrane inside? Would a nylon sheet work? What's out there that resists water but lets air flow through?

Thanks

why not build a kick pod for the mid bass woofers? It would probably be alot easier and solve most of your issues.

I've already asked about that. They're not going to fit without radical dash reconstruction
