I have an 06 xa, Im buying a iva-w205 alpine head unit, its a double din and it fits in my car (replacing my double din stock pioneer headunit). I was told that i need a dash install kit which is only like $17, Im wondering if this dash kit will mess up how the plastic molding fits around my stock head unit and vents now
Does anyone know if it will?

 

also there is a wire coming out of the back of my stock head unit, its black, it has a silver connector and it is on the left side of the unit, as far as i can tell, it does not unscrew, any ideas on what this is? also is there a way to get it off without cutting it?

 

the dash install kit is just two little plastic pieces that fill up the gap on the sides that arent taken up by a new headunit. ive circled them in red in the picture.
without them it would leave a gap on both sides. they wont mess anything else up.

about the wire, to me it just sounds like the antenna plug. if it is, it doesnt screw in, it just plugs right in, so you should be able to pull it out. it might just be jammed in there pretty good, if that is the same wire your talking about. otherwise, if you can get a picture of it, i can tell you what it is.

 

yeah i got everything worked out, it was an easy install, and yes it was the antenna plug, it was just stuck beyond belief
