Default Alpine Subs and Amp

I was thinking about getting 2 Alpine 10" SWE-1042 subs, and a Alpine MRP-M350 amp

Sub :
50-250 watts RMS
Peak power 750 Watts

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jdBWMtw...ine+SWE%2D1042

Amp:
350 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jdBWMtw...ine+MRP%2DM350

Anybody have these, or have you seen any reviews?

Thanks for any help.

I have a type-E 12 in my tC pushed by a 200w pioneer amp. It sounds ok but the acoustics are off a bit. But that's prolly b/c I built the ____ty box myself. Im still working on it but its a damn good sub for the money. Your amp should push plenty of power to your speaker. gl

They are not bad products. Certainly better then all the junk like pyle, pyramid etc.

Priory: did you try to change polarity?

i used to have a pair of the 10" alpine type R's in my old integra pushed by a nice ppi amp and it sounded very nice. I know its definitely is a different product than the E but thought you'd liike the reference anyway.

E's are the crap of the Alpine Subs...not saying they are bad...they're just the worst of their models...R's are the best...

I've heard the E's and like em, but I've also heard the R's...no comparison...

Get the R if you can...otherwise...get a slightly bigger amp...

Honestly...for amp and head unit, stick with alpine, but for subs...go for JL's

Default Alpine etc...

I mean no disrespect to Alpine when I say this. I have worked for more than one Japanese manufacturer they really don't get it when we say we want it to hit hard. The amps generally have no *****. I seems that most of the power supplies are under sized I will say that they make the best head units.

Yeah I have one of those 10subs but the 1041 model. I got if from Etronics for $49. I hooked it up to my small kenwood amp in my truck and wasn't to impressed by the sound. I was comparing it to a old JL W1 that sounds very clean off the Kenwood amp. So I put it my Tc running it off a cheap Power Acoutik amp that puts out a lot more power and was impressed with the results. It's nothing crazy but it hits pretty good. It should sound good with that Alpine amp but since is a 4ohm sub you will only get 200watts.
Are you doing anything to the front speakers? If you are leaving them stock do what I did and get a 4channel amp. Power you sub and front stock speakers. You can hipass the front speakers to get rid of the bass that nornally would distort them. Doing this will make you system sound way cleaner.
