Default Another darn Cruise control question for xB lovers!

Would anyone happen to know exactly where the VSS wire is located in the ECM? I have a 2006 xB that after a grueling, challenging 9 hour install that my partner and I so dilligently busted our brains on, still don't have a functioning cruise. I didn't buy the CC most commonly referred to on this site. On the 'tech sheet' (if you can really call them that) it specifies to refer to the black plug in the ECM, row 2 wire color purple/white 4000 pulse. Noted below this is an * that says may be 3rd white plug. Well...........I have a black plug. And on the 3RD row, not the 2nd I have a violet/purple wire not a purple/white wire. Is the same wire?? After calling the dealer of this particular CC I was told that they didn't have tech sheets or schematics on the 06 and I couldn't be helped. ANy help or link to a schematic of any sort would be helpful. ALso as far as the switches go.............I know where 1-5 should be placed on the CC module...........any clue as to switch 6?? Grrrr, how frustrating but oh so wonderfully brain picking.

This should be the same for the 06 xb... On the 05 you can get to the vss wire right behind the speedometer. Jjust take out the panel around the speedometer, and u can pull out the whole gauge. Behind it you will find the purple/white wire..

Thanks for your advice. I actually did tap into the right wire in the 3rd black plug. My problem lies in my vacuum lines. It appears either 1) the diameter of the large diameter tubing is too large and it is creating a leak in the system or 2) the vacuum source I selected to T into is too close to the purging valve thus also creating a leak when that valve purges the vapors from the carbon canister. Either way I need to get a smaller hose and find another vacuum source. IE maybe closer to the throttle body? Not sure really. All I know is the cruise works for a couple miles and then I loose it untill I pull over and restart-then the same thing.

Try tapping in the brake vacuum before the one way valve?

Ok well here it is, january and my cruise still doesn't work well. It works for the first 10-20 miles and then when it warms up the cruise gives out. I have changed the location of the vacuum source to before the one way valve in the master line. HELP??!! any ideas?
