When I was in Walmart the other night, I saw they had this unit which is around the price range you were looking for. The picture quality looked really good but it was in a display case and too late at night to find someone that would let me play with it.

I've never heard anything good about Jensen, and just about every time i've seen one at wal-mart it was messed up somehow.

Try looking there, not only are they cheap, they have reviews. The whole thing about it not playing unless the car is in park, I think it's a safety requirement by all manufactures, all you do is ground or put 12 volts to one wire.

For about $200 you can build your own carputer... All you would need then is a $50 touch screen. If you dig around in the right places you can build the carputer for even cheaper. I built mine with new parts (excluding the case/power/screen) for only $240 with a 300GB drive, 2GB memory, and wifi card. Going to add a GPS receiver and ODBII port sniffer to it before it's all done. You can also shave about 100+ on the system by using linux.
