Cathodes?? please help
Can some1 tell me what Cathodes are. And are they legal to put in your car (i live in NY but im moving to MA soon). Any information on cathodes would be nice. ie -how to install them, do they get hot, how much do they cost etc.
Hey! I know a couple people that can help! Scion Evolution is a team that has everything from cathode hookups to chopped xb's! So check out this thread and look up the Scion Evolution meets and check them out!

Cold Cathodes are lights that you can put into your car. Randode Racing (aka Randy West) is my husband and he makes a kit that goes right in your car. It goes under the dash like the ones that the dealerships sell but they are way better! And the dealerships want like $285 for it and Randy's are $100. Cold cathodes do not get hot. I guess if a cop pulled you over he could site you for them but I don't know for sure, they can distract you at night while you drive with them on. They are cool and I highly suggest you buy a set!
far as legality...it should be okay...cuz Neon lights are dealer options anyhow. it just depends on where u locate the lights...and just remember to have a on/off switch.
Neon is old school... Cold Cathode got popular due to PC casing trend...and now it's slowly the LEDs that's becoming popular. But if u're on a budget...go with cold Cathode rods...they are cheap and bright.
i installed mine under the dash on driver and passenger side for less than $30. the installation is almost simple as it comes.
if u need help...PM. u can get the cold cathodes are fry's electronic (west coast are)...or any computer hardware stores.
Again..i have had no trouble with the law...as a matter of fact..a police officer checking out my car front of a supermarket thought it was kewl.
