Does a double DIN fit?

Does a double DIN fit?
I called Crutchfield and asked them if the Kenwood DDX7015 would fit on the xB. He didn't have any specs for the xB, but he did for the xA. So, I asked him that since the xB and xA have the same radio would the DDX7015 fit since it's a double DIN?
He said that the stock radio isn't a true double DIN and that it wouldn't fit, but I could make it fit. They didn't have any kits yet for a double DIN in the xB. My question to you guys would be how would I get this to fit and look flush?
Here's the double DIN Unit. Tell me what you guys think...

The thing that got to me was that he said the stock stereo isn't a true double DIN and that I would need to modify the brackets in order to make it fit.

if will fit and the brackets will line up fine but you will need to make some sort of a kit to fill in the gaps around the unit..
Here is a pic of CRxB's radio and din pocket and it shows the gap that I speak of.

Here's the conversation I had. Is, what is in red true?
{G.T.} Welcome to Crutchfield Chat, Jesse. My name is GT. How may I help you today?
{Jesse} I'm looking at your Kenwood Excelon DDX7015 and was wondering if this would fit in a 2004 Scion xB
{G.T.} Let me see if that Scion has a true double-din opening. Bear with me a moment. I'll be right back!
{Jesse} ok
{G.T.} It looks like you may certainly have the room, maybe too much room, actually. However, it's not a true double-DIN in that it doesn't use side brackets to secure the radio.
For that reason, it would be a custom install in that opening.
{Jesse} Would it be hard to do?
{G.T.} I really don't know much about those Scion's, but it most cases, it gets fairly involved. You may want to contact one of our local installers to see what they think.

{Jesse} okay...also, how does getting the free sirius tuner work?
{Jesse} do i automatically get it if i purchase this double-din unit?
{G.T.} All you have to do is place an order for that receiver, along with a Sirius antenna and we will automatically add the Sirius tuner for free!
{Jesse} Do I have to subscribe to the service? How much is the service?
{G.T.} Yes, the subscription is $12.95 a month.
{G.T.} Can I go ahead and set you up with that today?
{Jesse} Oh...that's not bad. I'm gonna do some research first on if i can get that unit to fit
{G.T.} Cool. That's probably a good move.
By the way, is there an email address that I can send our chat transcript to?
{Jesse} jestertsk@***.net
{Jesse} Thanks for your time...
{G.T.} You're welcome! I will send you an e-mail of our chat so that you have my name and number. Be sure to let me know if you need anything else.
Have a great day!

DIN Gap
My installer made a little no-dollar mod to fill in the sides of my slots. I THINK he used the stock radio mounting bracket to mount my Alpine and Pioneer pieces. With the gap left on the sides, he trimmed some textured plastic to fit the sides and double-side taped them to the bracket. They are super secure there and they look great. My profile has a pic, but it shows a huge black area. If you're interested, I can shoot a pic with my digicam and e-mail it to you.
