the stuff that dayton has isn't as good either like i stated before the only sound deadeners that should be used is: dynamat extreme, brown bread, cascade vb-1 and vb-1x, last but not least second skin...cascade vb-1 is what I will be using... I got 5 gallons of it with that amount i could cover 2 cars but I'm using all of it in the xb plus it was only 200.00 so figure that out for price per sqft

well if you used just the orignal dynat that stuff is and always will be crap...second skin sticks to everything and when laid its stays put the liquid hardener vb-1 is spreadable with a brush or roller the vb-1x is sprayed on brown bread is the sound dampener in sheet form just because its cheaper and preforms just as good as all the rest...but if you want a name dynamat extreme is a popular one and it works with a little elbow grease
this is a debate that can go on forever basically its just like speaker get what ever you like and can afford

A test was done on them all in a magazine. If I could remember where I found it I would link it but it has been awhile. The brown bread did better than dmat extreme did at most temps and the test was performed by testing dbs on a cymbal with the sam ammount of deadener applied each time. It was tested down to x.xxx dbs.

When dynamat first came out, this was the reason for it, it was not used as a acousical product, further development into the product and they started using it for stereo systems.

No way - I have to pull the BS flag on that handling part - this stuff is asphalt based and it works because its heavy. I can't imagine that dynomat could stop any vibration that could effect handling -- but if it could, there's no way it will offset the cost of the added weight.
i'd have to agree with that being BS. i know a lot of autocrossers and most of them gut their interiors of every last ounce, including the factory sound deadening stuff that's sort of like dynamat. they don't worry about vibrations on that scale. the weight penalty is a far bigger issue.
