turn the key while holding the A button, then insert the cd, turn it to track two, and hold the buttons down. I hope it eventually works for you!

as long as we're talking about the stereo text...
I've tried quite a few CDs and none of them have the text option on there. How do i format a burned CD on the computer to have the text capability?

Okay, this just may be old news to a lot of you, and also may have been posted before, but what the heck...

You know where you open the 'door' under the A/C controls? Where a lot of us put CD cases, and some after market radios/DVD players?

Well, there is a slot I found there today, that holds BUSINESS cards. It's perfect for them.

That was what I figured out today, while waiting for the bridge to go down.

Custom Welcome screen
to create your own custom message, press and hold 'M' and turn the key so 'ACC' is off. You now have one minute to use the '+' and '-' buttons to scroll through any ASCII characters. Use the 'A' button to enter your characters.

do i need to have the key on ACC and then i turn the car off. or i need to have the car on and then i turn it on ACC?

Got a little impatient so if this is repetative I apologize:

The "Custom Greeting" for the head unit in the tC is not really an easter egg. An easter egg is something that is non-published but "found" by playing around (or hacking when it comes to software). The Custom Greeting steps are actually given to you in the stereo manual when you purchase the tC. The "PushMyButton" secret is unveiled in the Summer/Fall 04 (black mag) Scion catalog on page 48. The rest (or what's known so far) are in this thread.

Most people who seem to be having problems don't realize that before every "easter egg" you need to have the car turned completely off, then hold down the A button and turn the ignition to ACC... give the head unit one or two seconds to start flashing the "underline" under the greeting text and THEN enter in your numerous "easter eggs". If you do it correctly, the head unit will remain ON for a few seconds even after you pull the key out of the ignition.
