I used the products pictured for my *****, switches, and some other stuff. It worked like a dream. The paint is on there and not coming off. I got that smooth (very close to) no-orange peel look by using a method similar to what SciFly described. See the second picture for that shine.

Here's a stupid question...how did you mask off the little light openings on the A/C *****? I'd like to paint mine too but haven't figured out how to avoid filling the lens with paint.

You can CAREFULLY fill the voids with rubber cement. Then run an x-acto knife along the edge to break the paint. It will pull right out.

Here is the issue I have with interior painting:

I really would like to paint my interior like a royal blue, if not the whole thing just all the stock silver stuff. The thing is any interior pic I've ever seen where people have painted parts a different color they always leave out the silver accents on the steering wheel and on the automatic shifter. So is it even possible to pull these parts off to paint them or would it cause damage? The way I see it if you're not going to paint all the silver accents a different color you might as well not paint anything at all because it looks tacky.

Just mask everything off nicely and paint it in the car.
