Default gawd awefull squeaky rattle like sound

Coming from the passenger side of the car back by the rear seatbelt, I took all the trunk styrfoam out last night where the storage hatch is at and put it all back in and made sure that little cloth flap on the back bottom of the seat was down in between the foam and the seat, seemed to aleaviate it, but this morning on the drive to work, just before getting to work it slowly started up again. Something must have shifted back. What can I do to get rid of this sound. Sounded like a rattle at first then it turns into a squeak(like stryfoam rubbing toether). Anyone else had this problem.

Default squeeky rattle

I just got a new TC and with 1200 mi. on it and I've startted to hear this same rattle. Can't tell where it's coming from. Sounds like the passenger seat or under pass. side dash. I only here it in the early morning when the car is cool inside. let me know if you find a cure

I'm glad I'm not the only one. At first I thought it was the TRD springs squeeking in thier perches. But your right it sounds like the foam compartments in the back.

It's possibly the styrafoam behind any of the panels in the car squeaking, I think all the Scions have this issue. I know I do and have just tuned it out over time. Why not try taking a passanger with you, so they can help pin point exactly where the noise is coming from , then remove the styrafoam from that panel and see if the squeek goes away.

funny thing is I did that, and it would not make the sound, strange, that is when I took all the foam out of the storage compartments to investigate, that seemed to aliviate it temperarily. I am thinkif of getting some really thin felt , that you usually put under glass. and put it here it makes contact, see if that will shut it up.
