Default HELIOS HID Kit

Does anyone have this done to their tc?
I was wondering which one will put out the most light output.
I know that the higher K don't necessarily mean more light.
So i'm wondering if a 6000k HID will be good.
Also is it hard to install at all.
I know they say it's plug and play kind of installation.
But I just wanted to be sure.
Thanks[/b]

don't do it. don't buy a conversion kit. those are not made for your car and are illegal. what you want to buy are HID Retrofit kits.. basically taking an HID kit from a car that originally had HID's.. and custom fitting it to yours.

that's he only way.

Even though some Helios kits may say "retrofit", it doesn't mean it is. A TRUE retrofit means ACTUALLY taking a kit from another car and retrofitting it to yours. buying the fake conversion kits will not give you better lighting. it'll blind other drivers, and possibly burn out your system. If you want improved lighting.. then do it the right way. if you just want to "LOOK like HID's", then just get Luminics or Silverstars or something and not waste your money on the other crap.

go read HIDForums.com and HIDRetro.com for more info.

Won't it be hard opening the housing and doing the conversion?
Thanks for the suggestion.
I already have silverstars.
Just want a little more wider light spread.
I was thinking of the piaa 1100x fog lights.
But it may look a little cheesy on the tc.

there are several write ups on how to do this. It isn't that difficult.

Trust me, it's not really that hard. My advice woudl be to do a search for the how tos, read them, and see if you feel confident enuff to do it.

If you don't then stick with the silverstars. One thing I've learned is that the quick/easy/cheap way, often ends up meaning more work later on. Do it once, and do it the right way

don't do it. i had the helios kit. 6000k as well. used it for a month and sold it. its better than halogen. but no where near the output of projectors. i gathered parts for retrofit few weeks after using the Helios kit. the output from 1 oem projector was brighter than both headlights with the helios kit.

The retrofit way they are talking about IS NOT all that hard to do.. I had an '02 Celica and we took the HIDs from an Escalade p/u and retrofitted them to my Celica took about 15mins... Basically your "splicing" them into your existing wires.. This is your best bet...

yeah.. the Escalade is a little bit different from the normal projector type. that's probably why it's easier. i'm not sure what the optical output of the Escalade lights are though. Can you take some pictures of both the lights and bulbs and how it shines?
