Default Hooking up factory bazooka tube to new head unit

I just got myself an Alpine CDA 9833 and I was wondering how to hook up the stock bazooka tube I have to it?

THANKS!

the plug on the factory tube should have power, ground, remote, and input(probably high level)...all you'll have to do is run it like a regular amp.....that is all I know because I haven't really messed with one of those......hopefully someone will be able to clarify on this matter....

Yea, I just went thru this myself. The factory sub is not preamped out, it is tied into the speaker wires thru a separate adaptor that you should leave as is. I presume you got one of the toyota adaptors to hook into the factory harness...if not, get one (best buy has them). It will have two plugs (to match the factory plugs to the old HU) and bare wires on the other end.

On the package, it tells you which color wire on the adptor is what. On you new head unit, it's harness will also have descriptions for the bare wires. You will wire them together, then all you do is plug onto the factory harness and plug into you new HU.

Everything will match up.

I was concerned the sub would not sound good or not work at all. Wow, was I wrong. It sounds GREAT...much better that the stock HU ever did.

I was told (did not verify) that the factory amp to the factory sub has built in crossover to remove mids and highs to the sub.

So all you need is a regular Toyota wire harness for your new H/U and the Bazooka should work fine?

Thats what I did and it works fine. Went to Best Buy, bought the toyota 2 plug harness, wired it to the new HU harness and off it went. I thought for sure the sub would not work, but it sure does. Sounds much better.

It use to sound distorted when cranked up with the factory HU....not any more. Deep thumps....
