If the Toyota airbags are like our Nissan airbags, the Scion logo is "plastic-riveted" to the inside of the airbag cover. You might have to completely disassemble the airbag to get to it...

I can do that if it means I'll have a place to put the small Toyota emblems I've got ordered. I just don't want to try and fill in around the old one and have the new one stick up too high.
I wonder what other Toyota airbag models would fit this 03'-06' wheel. My dads Yaris horn assembly looks close but the emblem is the same bland color as the bag.
It'd be really nice if we could work out an international trade with Japan.

I've often thought about swapping a Celica GT wheel... they're almost the same design.
You can kinda see it here:

I have a few ideas on how to change just the logo or cover it up. Not sure exactly which way I'm gonna try till the emblems start showing up and I see what size they all are.

I may just go old school and mount up a classic Grant wheel. Anyone know what grant hubkit works for Toyota/Scions?

I have takin the emblem out of the airbag. it has plastic pins that go throught the cover and are plastic welded on the back.

If you just pry with a bunch of small screw drivers(being careful not to ding up the airbag cover. You can work it off.

Take your time.

The airbag cover has the scion emblem molded into it so you can't just put on a toyota emblem on.

but you could take your dremel and be very steady while triming the little lumps down and just scuff the whole area where the emblem goes and put the toy or lex emblem in there.

I used a little super glue to hold it in place.

some of them are blury. The shiny black is where I had to sand down a little from the dents from prying the emblem out.

That's the newer style airbag wheel. Mine is the 03'-early 06' xB one without the HU control buttons.

the process is still the same Jeff, I removed mine on the old style back in the day, its possible to do, as long as you are careful and take your time. It would be easier to take it off and work on it.

the only solution if you want it to look anyway OEM decent. But the Air bag will not work. So I would keep the Scion one on for daily and put on the Toyota for shows. I have the 06 with controls and need to do this Abag mod but can't find it anywhere

all logos on airbags are plastic welded into the airbag, with the exception of the metal ford logos, they are stuck through and pinned with metal tabs, so the above way is the only way to take it off, but you also need to look at it this way, are you willing to sacrifice safety for looks? superglue isn't going to hold that emblem on if you get into an accident, and have you ever seen how high an airbag will launch into the air? about 200 feet straight up, they sound like both barrels on a shotgun going off when not in a car, think about the force that that airbag is putting, and the emblem is having to go through, or once removed the superglue that holds it on
