If the emblem flew off, how bad could something that small be really? I think I'll take my chances. It would have to hit me first instead of something else like the headliner. I'd have bigger stuff to worry about if you think about it.

I've seen pictures of dyed/painted airbags that killed the driver, due to the wrong kind of paint being used, and the die will actually seap into the bag and foul it up so when it explodes it blows the whole bag to peices, and the paint turns into little razors, if you insist on swapping out the emblem find a better way then superglue to mount it, like some weld stuff, found some at home depot a while back

It can't be worse than having no bad at all. I'm not dying it, just attatching a small lightweight piece of plastic. Not worried.

ok, but please do yourself a favor and use some really good plastic cement, maybe talk to the local paint store and see if you can get a small amount of panel bond

I wear safty glasses when I drive.lol OK regular glasses.

The emblem is flexable and light wieght enough that it is the least of my worries if I hit somthing hard enough to set off the bag.

I can actually disconnect my airhorns by pulling 1 wire so no honking when I'm messing with it. I did that once in the middle of the night and was afraid I woke up the whole neighborhood.

Trunk looks nice, steering whell logo looks a tad large. Also, the steering wheel center color looks to be a different shade of black than the rim of the wheel. I have yet to find a good paint match for the stock interior black, it's just slightly greyer than any actual black paint. The fit looks decent enough.

I'd like to do this as well, but make it a decepticon logo kind of like the autobot wheel from bumblebee in the movie.

I would make it removeable though, for safety. I've had the unfortunate experience of being in the driver seat when the airbag goes off (my fault from my first driving days ), and do not want anything on it that didn't come with it if there is a crash, unless I can make it out of styrofoam.

I love how the wheel turned out but I'd leave the silver part silver.
What exact emblem (size or part number) did you use and what technique? I have a smaller one on order so I hope it works.
On the hatch I like the emblem but while looking at actual bBs they don't have an emblem out back so not sure if I want to add one on the hatch.

seems like allot of work to do when you could just buy the JDM Toyota version and keep it for shows.

good question I am in discussion with some one about this at the moment. I am looking for the 06 one though I am SURE it will be much easier to find the other ones.

I found that the 04-05 Rav4 airbag looks the same. But I don't have one to compare it.

I'm not having any luck with the early one either. That's why I'll settle for just swapping the emblem.

Got pics? I'll have to scope it out on ebay. I wonder how a blown rav4 bag would work just using the old cover???
The pic I saw here the rav4 bag looks like the xB one with the HU buttons.

The Echo should be an exact fit, but I have no clue if the plug is the same.

NICE! Oh and $250 is just a big rip off. You could get the entire JDM steering wheel for under $300
