Default How to install Amp & Sub on OEM Premium Pioneer Stereo?

I'm installing an Amp and Sub to my stock OEM Premium Pioneer Stereo and would like to know how to or where do you connect the remote wire from the Amp to?
I know you connect the RCA's to the radio.

I believe you can connect the remote wire to any 12v source... however you want something that will trigger at ACC or Ignition.

If I'm not mistaken, the gray wire on the factory blue connector is 12V ACC. This should be fine for a remote wire.

Hey guys. Recently became owner of a 2005 XB

Just wondering if the stock Pioneer CD Deck has Preamp Outputs on it? Want to hook up my amplifier and subs pretty soon.

Havent had the time to really take apart the center console and have a look back there.

Another question, to take the center console off you just pull the air control dials straight out? Kinda hesitant to try that since the plastic doesnt look very strong, I wouldnt want to break em.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Nope. The stock deck doesn't have any pre-outs on it. If you intend on hooking up an amp, you're going to need LOCs.
The A/C ***** simply pop off if pulled straight back. There are two phillips screws under the left and right ***** (one under each). Take those out. The center dash is held in place by a few snap tabs. The easiest way to get it loose without scratching the dash or breaking a tab is to gently push downward at the top of the center dash piece, just above and toward the center of the two center A/C vents, while pulling back towards you. The center dash piece will begin to pull outward. Once it is out at the top, you can begin pulling at the sides to get the rest of the center piece loose from the main section of the dash. Once it is all loose, there are 3 plugs for the A/C controls that still need to be disconnected. Each one is tabbed, so you will need to depress the tab in order to disconnect each plug.
Good luck, and have fun modding that xB! ...Hope this helps.

The only OEM unit that has RCA plugs is the '08 Premium Unit which is still plug and play the the stock harness

jdl1681. Do you own one of these OEM Premium Radio's? The reason asking is I wanted to know if you hooked up an amp to the radio. Also, wanted to know how you hooked up the remote wire from the amp.

Id imagine youd just splice your relay wire into the gray wire on the harness.

Default Subwoofer install and the elusive RCA connection

2013 Scion xD. Pioneer, Bespoke system, powered by Zephyr. (All stock, certified Toyota)

There are 3 sets of RCA connectors on the back of this unit 1 for each of the 4 normal speakers Front Left (FL), FR, RL, and RR. Then there is the controversial 3rd set of RCA connections on the far left (drivers left, corner top of unit)
these far lefty's are your fast track ticket to the Corbin Dallas Future Bass Sub Club.... Slumpin' Sideways.

All the kids these days. I see'em You know what they doing all night?...F, F, FutchaBassin'...
Mmmh Hmmm, Yas'm, Every one of'em. All on the Futcha Bass's.
