I haven't tried it, but Griffin Technology has a dock adapter for the Shuffle V2. It's made to be used with a dock, but I'm sure you could just connect the cable directly to the adapter, then connect your Shuffle to it. It makes me wonder if the adapter opens the gateway to other 1/8" audio socket peripherals...

Does this work with mp3 players other then ipods? I use the aux jack in my 06 but volume needs to be turned up all the way. Is the sound better with ipod2car?

Does what work with mp3 players other than ipods? This tutorial, yes. This box, no...or no one has tested the dock adapter...

I think the quality is just as excelent as a mp3cd...there's sommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmme hisses and crackles.....but that doesn't bother me because I have 20gigs of pure MUSIC! You can also play with the equalizer on your iPOD too to make it sound even better...Volume on the iPOD doesn't matter when it is hooked up to the iPOD2car. Your head unit does all the glory.

Oh, one other thing, make sure your iPOD is in a place where it wont feel tooo much vibration. It can damage the iPOD. There were times when I would drop the thing during a hard stop or it would fly out of one of my compartments if I put the pedal to the metal.

Hi,
I just bought a used 2006 Scion xa, but unfortunately the original owner did not opt for the ipod connectivity upgrade... I was hoping someone might know how I could do that upgrade myself with oem parts. I want it to be the same as if it was opted to begin with, with the ipod port right in front of my current auxiliary port.

If anyone has done this and can help that would be awesome... need part numbers and some real help. Thanks.

i was able to get the box and ipod cord for free. i bought harness 3 on ebay for 10 bucks. Plug everything in, works like a charm. except it doesn't charge on the newer models of ipod. i'm trying to get an adapter so it can charge. you can't choose playlists, pretty much only back and forth. probably shuffle and repeat too. overall it's pretty good.

a year later : i'm still using this x] the volume is kinda low imo. i gotta turn it up to around 25+ but no biggie. my number 6 dip switch is on.
