i havent even got my second one in nor my amp. i was looking around where i live before i finally order. and a guy was telling me that kicker is no good. that u are just buying the name. he had other subs and amps he was tryin to sell me. like hifonics pbx and power acoustik. i have heard of pbx they are decent but im not sure about the other two. although i have smelled an L5 at circuit city but i figured hey its an L5 or that hey was putting too much power into it without sending a good clean signal. but he did sell one thing that i liked and that was alphasonik.

well the thing is that i heard the hifonic square sub up close its sounded ok but from what i remember the last time i was close to an L5 it was seriously loud. i mean it would be nice to get something that is at a cheaper price but theres no telling how it will perform. i know kicker didnt get this far up by putting bulls*it out there on the market. but if i dont find a good price for my memphis ill just get the alphasonik. that was my first choice for an amp. i have heard good things about alphasonik and alot of very good things about memphis they are supposed to be the best but im thinkin bout both of those as my amps. im not quite sure. but ill post to let yall know soon.

Kicker is an A++ Company and i stand behind them and there product 100%. Electronics go bad, they are man made and used by people or abused by people i should say, so things do go bad over time and with harsh abuse to them. But if i had the choice i would buy kicker or JL audio, and kicker is abit cheaper in price because it has gone mainstream now. Thats just my 2 cents....

the kicker L5-L7's do get hella loud, but they take too much effort to make them sound good...IMO

Who ever said kicker was expensive is stu_id! Kickers are not expensive and sound the best for the buck. I've heard the 15" L7, for $300 you can't go wrong, compared to the alpine x (witch I owned) and the jlw7. Go to a sterio shop where the employees are not on commision, they will tell you the trueth. I also had an alphasonic 800series and it was not that great either. As far as amps, that's where the bill counts. Your beat is going to sound as great as your amp is. It makes a world of difference and consider a bass cap.

Capacitors are widely misused...only gain you can expect is a little more stable (read: less-fluctuatung) voltage at low/normal listening volumes... maybe some noise filtering... it's not going to keep your lights from dimming like many people think...
