Has anyone tried installing the Leather Steering Wheel Accessory from SCION? I see you can buy the wheel for as low as 220 in some places, but installed by the dealer is around 330. I personally love the feel of a FACTORY leather steering wheel. Makes a big difference when driving.

To me, installing a new steering wheel seems like a nightmarish task. Is this one best left to the dealer service department guys to handle?

 

Never done it... but considering you have to work around or maybe even remove the airbag components, I would leave it for the dealer to do.

 

i'll be doing this mod in the next few weeks so i'll letcha know. can't be that hard, a couple of screws and maybe removing the airbag unit (which is usually just a connector). but there has to be someone on here that has done this mod.... come on! anyone?

 

it's easy, i did it, comes with instructions, 2 torx screws to remove the air bag, 3 screws to remove the plastic backing, and you will need a steering wheel puller(get one at kragen or auto zone for about $10) use the tool and it pops off. install new one.
easy. it took me 30 miniutes and i was very careful.
