I talked to a guy at the dealer and he told me that I could get a FM modulator to hook up to the radio. He said the FM modulater hooks up to the radio and provides RCA connections for the Amp. Did all you guys that have AMps and Subs buy new decks for the xB for the RCA connection? I dont really want to get a new deck, Does anybody have a FM Modulator with Amps and Subs? What do yall think?

There are plenty of amps that will take speaker level inputs (rather than rca out/line level). Using these you could just hijack the signal from the cable going to your rear speaker as input to the amp, then set up the amps crossover to send any non-bass signal back out to the rear speakers.
I put 61/2 "Planet audio in the rear speaker space, just get out the air saw and cut it to fit, I'm still running the 8" bazooka tube it still hits ok for know. Had to upgrade to new head unit and 5 CH. amp to run the upgraded speakers. Don't use FM Modulator not good sound quality.
Actually it is a line out put converter that would have been referred to not a fm modulator...(those are used for sending a signal to you radio). Quality will suffer from a line out converter but not terribly, biggest problem is you will have no control over the sub level the way you do with an aftermarket radio. that is where a seperate sub control comes in handy. hope that gives you a good start JoeBox any questions feel free to PM me. (BTW i have done installs for a few years now professionally i am speaking from experience)

Stay away from the FM modulators and line out converters. I have a custom made harness which has RCA's built in....It is NOT an FM Modulator or LOC. This is a whole harness which connects between your factory deck and the factory harness. I have the RCA signal running to a Lightning Audio 1200 watt amp which is hidden along with 2 capacitors inside of the back storage panel next to the spare tire. Signal coming from the amp runs to a 2005 series KICKER L5 12" square in a tuned/ ported box and to 4 10" Kicker XPL's in sealed enclosures. Let's just say you can lay a quarter on the roof of my xB and you can make it jump about 6 inches when the bass hits.

right now my L5 is rear firing into the back hatch...... as far as the 10's, they are still trying to find their sweet spot. As for now there are two under the front seats and the other two I am still playing with to get the sound right....
