alright i have built a couple of Spl systems before but never any as big as im abot to take on im about to build an 8000 watt system and im going to need atleat on cap but my question is which farad do i need could i run 2 4farad caps or 4 2farad caps so on and so fourth
any input will be greatly appreciated

as many as you can for an 8000 watt system. Not to mention multiple batteries, a much larger alternator or 2, concrete in the doors to stop them from blowing off, etc.....

 

i was actually considering a concrete box for the subs cause i got air suspencion
but im looking at running yellow top and stinger gel cells and a duralast high output alternator

 

is this going into an xb? if so, I hope you are not planning on driving it?

 

8000w really isn't like nuclear generator back up power. Go big altenator, replace the stock battery and a second battery at the back. Skip the cap altogether.

yeah it is but im proably not going to build the box out of concrete but that would be sweet

 

if you go better alternator and a battery in the rear you dont need a crappy cap, they suck anyway not worth it at all

 

teh old addage was 1 farad for every 1000 watts, however nowadays I believe they are saying 1 farad for every 500 watts. so based on that you would need 16 farads if you are using all 8000 watts for bass.

so what kind of equipment are you planning on using?
