Noob needs help with XM-ready Pioneer
Ok, I followed the rules, did my searches, read my manual and still can't figure out how to enter "000" on my stock xA stereo. The book says it's XM ready and all I need to do is enter "000" to get the serial number so I can call XM...
Am I an idiot? Don't answer that...

Well, the book doesn't say anything about installing another unit of any type.
I doubt anything else was installed by the previous owners.
I guess what confuses me is, if they say it's "Satellite Ready" but I still have to buy a receiver unit, how is this any different than me buying a head unit at WalMart?

Tell me you have the receiver. From what I'm reading, you don't have satellite, it's an option from the dealer that plugs into the factory radio. In other words, every unit has the capability to have a satellite receiver plugged into it, but you must buy the receiver, and don't forget the monthly charge for service.
