I have not seen an OEM system with a distortion limiter, but I have seen may that attenuate the low frequency as volume increases to save the suspensions of the speakers.

'pioneer' is one of the better names in audio IMHO, I have used Pioneet home stereo components and also car components for 15 years now and I have had better luck with them than Kenwood, JVC or Sony so I am not sure what is so funny.. its not as if we were talking about *gasp* AC Delco

I have a $300 Sony Xplod in my BOP now and I am leaving it in when I trade my car in this week to get a new 05 TCM which I will be leaving the Stock HU in because IMHO the stock Pioneer sounded much better than the Sony.

Above 50 my rear view mirrors vibrate in rhythm with the music... I leave the bass and treble at 0, and usually have the mode set to SSC Hear. On some cds SSC Feel is better but for most that's too much bass for my taste.
