you could. but most of my customers dont want to deal with wiring up all those lights. My kit is plug and play.
^^true that...

most customers aren't as knowledgable with wiring as other customers...same thing when it comes to changing the oil in your car...some people would tell you "oh that's easy, i buy my own oil and do my own oil change in my garage"...but most customers aren't, so they just go to express oil change places...

I want the Randode lighting kit for tC to wire up to the door, where the lights will only be on when doors are open? Instruction included?

That's like a third of the price of the other kit he's comparing it to...

Also, to clear up some confusion - LEDs DO NOT use an inverter. They take 12v DC current just like your car uses. Neons, cold cathodes and EL products need AC power to operate. That's what the inverter does, converts from DC to AC.

$100 is better than $300, but for parts that cost less than $10, $100 is a lot.

Ha! Do you have any clue what parts cost for most of the things you buy? When a product makes its way into the marketplace, the final price represents more than just the "parts."

I was looking on your site but can't find your $2.50 Cold Cathodes... Hmmm. So how could I make this for less than $10? Maybe I missed them...

Anyway, For some people Time=Money. Some folks may not want to take the time to DIY or to learn how to DIY. Plug and Play has a value, Randode's support has a value.

Just my $.02, I don't have his kit and only know Randode from being on SL... Just trying to help compare options for the poster who asked...

I agree time is money and some people don't want to hassle with the DIY. I just paid a plumber $500 to replace a faucet and all the tubes under the sink. I could have spent a weekend doing it myself for WAY less than that but I didn't want to hassle with it. I wanted it done right the first time and didn't want to lay on my back looking up at the sink for 5 hours.

Sorry, when I said $10 in parts, I meant at dealer/manufactuer cost. Go to China and you can get 2 cathode tubes and a transformer for less than $2.50. Add on a few cents for shipping of a couple thousand units. Then add on a few cents for a OEM style switch, wires, and a few cents to print up directions.

Or as a consumer, go get some cathodes for under $20.

I agree it is a bit more work to DIY, so for some, the $100 option may be good.

All I know is, it would have prolly taken me all day to do it myself. Figuring where to place the lights, then the inverters, then running the wire from here to there, and from there to here. But, it took me less than an hour for Randode's plug and play set. Am I happy with it? HECK YES!

Well let's see hear folks.......You can pay what $280.00 for scion leds or $100.00 for Randy's. Hummmmmm math tells me you save $180.00 buying Randys kit, and there are some of you slamming him because he "charges to much" WTF Randy has put alot of time and effort into insuring that these kits are plug and play. He has made sure that all the details are covered in the kit. Do you think he gets al lthe parts for free?? I think he has to pay for supplies just like any other business. He has to print those instructions (what do you think paper and ink are free?), he makes sure every kit works (do you think his time is free or he has little kebbler elfs working on the kits in the midle of the night?), then if you have a problem he will help you try to solve it or he will replace the product, and some of you say shame on him! Shame on you! You people are probably the same people that will sell your stuff and think that it is worth twice the going rate, but yet _____ about someone trying to help others and trying to make a living! If you do not like the price and if you have enough money to replace anything that you fry in your car then go for it! Please lay off Randy, he has done alot of the Scion community and has been a great support person for us here in the valley. We are very lucky to have him here in Phoenix. Oh BTW I have the scion leds and I hate them. I will soon be buying lights for m Randy soon.
OK I've vented and feel much better now

Randode explains which wire to tap, and where to ground, then you mount the convertors and lights. Less than an hour time total for install.

Plug and play is just like it reads. You plug something in, and then play with it.

Geez Bill, I thought we weren't going to bring that up again. Yes, the kit is so simple to install, I DID IT! So yes, it is idiot proof, and takes less than an hour to do.

My next Scion will have a Randode interior light kit also!
