Has anyone else had this happen? I'm not able to put the seat down. Is this repairable?

needle nose pliers should work

 

I know I'm pretty late to this thread, but I just fixed the ***** in the back of my Son's xA. If you can get the pull up out of the seat with pliers, the remaining part of the **** can be screwed off and removed.
Replacements are available on eBay (mine were $18 for the pair), but I bet you could go to an auto store and get replacement ***** too. You'll have to make sure the base is narrow enough to fit.

Just screw it on and there you go!
