I installed a Gentek GENK-31 auto dimming mirror.

In addition to compass, temp, map lights and auto dim, you can now see the entire width of the rear glass at once! Clears the visors by about 1/4". Perfect!

The mirror is 10-1/4" wide and the bottom edge sits about 3-1/2~4" down from the top edge of the windshield-in my xB. Clears the visors....just barely! BTW, I used the "long" wire channel.

Yes, DIY install-see link in post above.

Good luck!

Hmmm... If it barely clears it... What happens if you move the mirror, does it clear the mirror at ALL angles?

^^Yup, clears unless your mirror or visors grow longer!

See pic #4...mirror flat with visors locked and down = worst case. Both mirror and visors swing in an arc. Never get closer than that, only further away.

If you guys are looking for a good "cheapo" rear view mirror for your xB check out E-bay motors. parts, Mustang, 79 through 93. All Mustangs convertibles of that vintage included mirrors with dual map lights. they can be wired to the door switch and will operate by rocker switches mounted on the mirror. I've seen them on E-bay for $20.00. This would be a great addition to your xB.

Awesome, never noticed the angle of the mirror on that picture. I never got a new mirror yet, I'll probably have to get GENK-31.

How would I power it if I had already used the fuse box power? I put a mini-add-a-circuit there.
