Clint that is a good idea. I can picture it in my head.. I would say redo the headliner and mold them in to it. Kind of like Bill's are in his A-pillar, it could look very very sick. As far as sound goes, it may mess with the imaging abit, but if done right it can sound good..

A) sound good - don't do it.
B) will it work - yes, but see A's answer.

Clint, keep the install clean and let it make sense. there are reasons that when you see top notch show cars they don't have tweeters in the headliner.

Yes, it is possible, but would not sound good. When installing components, you try to keep the tweet and woof within close proximity of one another. This prevents large holes in the stereo image caused by a large separation of the high and low frequencies. Your image would actually seem to "hop" around in the vehicle as it hit higher and lower frequencies. The goal of a good-sounding stereo system is to replicate the original recording as though you were actually listening to it live.
Try to keep the components as close together as possible.
