Default WHERE TO PUT REMOTE WIRE?

I did a search but i need a more in depth explanation.

I need to run the remote wire for my amp but am not sure where to put the remote wire.
If i were to put it into the ignition wire, where can i find that wire and what color is it?
i saw a couple of posts where they were tapping them into the stereo harness but could not come up with the desired result.

Just wondering if anybody has any suggestions.....

For the echo, I heard it was a blue wire in the stereo harness.. i can send you a pdf file of the echo's stereo harness (might help, might not).

On the stereo wiring harness........there is a black wire with a red stripe that is for a "power antenna". DO NOT TAP THIS WIRE. It will turn your amp on when you are listening to the tuner........and turn your amp off when you are listening to CDs. You can tap the gray wire on the radios wiring harness. It won't turn your amp on and off with the stereo.......it will turn it on and off with your ignition.......which is basically fine, because you're not pulling much power through the amp if its just "on"...and not playing music. I don't think there is a wire on the radio you can tap to make the amp go on and off with the radio.........so I just went ahead and tapped the gray wire (a friend of mine had the same problem, and on his advice, i tapped the gray wire and have had no problems).
